Thank you for sharing this. I feel great empathy, having been through the same with mother. I had similar thoughts listening to her breathing. Sending prayers that her breathing may ease, and for you and for Jan as you sustain her mother with your love and compassion, and breath.
What a practice it is... and how wonderful you have a ground of practice to stand on throughout this. Love to Jan, her mom, and you as you all walk through this valley.
So lovely! I can nearly hear the machine as well James. Thank you...
May we boldly add to the partial list? Ruach is clearing its throat, wanting to receive a nod.
Its very pronunciation clears ones throat. Ruach Elohim... life-sustaining animation of the (plural) divine. Ruach on the inhale, Elohim is the exhale. The very last of the elementals to depart our body as our spirit leaves - according to the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Perhaps that is why it's so frightening to find oneself closer to being without it. Blessed be.
Thank you for all of your writing. My thoughts are with you, Jan, and her mother through this time. Your words always set an example on living with grace and dignity.
sending love to you all. What you wrote about these last days brings back memories of Bill's last weeks. It is really hard to watch. Again, Sending much love to you all.
What beautiful writing, James. I can almost feel your experiences in my body and my mind as you navigate this. Thank you for sharing.
